Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a motivated self-starting Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This person ensures equipment and building systems are running smoothly in the production plant/office location. The perfect candidate will have prior experience diagnosing and troubleshooting repairs on heavy equipment and building systems.
Description : The purpose of this position is to monitor, maintain and repair the equipment in the facility to ensure it is operating safely and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Responds to maintenance service requests in a timely manner with a positive attitude.
-Diagnoses and troubleshoots repairs of critical equipment including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using a variety of specialized hand and power tools.
-Develops permanent corrective action for repeated mechanical failures.
-Performs repairs, preventative maintenance, general maintenance, and instillation on a variety of equipment including, overhead cranes, pressure washers, saws, power tools, mixers, flat conveyors, bucket elevators and other equipment specific to our business.
-Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures and systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, painting and carpentry to detect malfunctions and prevent deterioration.
-Ensures that proper testing has been completed before returning systems or equipment to production and cleans up space and equipment after completing work.
-Operating machinery, as well as overhead cranes, and forklifts.
-Driving truck, trailer, or tractors within the Yard.
-Performing area cleanup/housekeeping including putting away tools, sweeping debris and cleaning cluttered areas.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
-Prior hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting repairs on heavy equipment and building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boilers.
-Ability to become certified in AWS D1.1 & D1.4
-Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
-Working knowledge of fabrication techniques including stick welders.
-Working knowledge of small engine repair. - Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including but not limited to as well as overhead cranes, and forklifts.
-Ability to drive truck, trailer, or tractors within the Yard.
-Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagnostic and operator’s manuals.
-Ability to work outside as required.
-Excellent problem-solving skills.
-Excellent communication skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
-Associates degree in industrial maintenance or electro mechanics a plus.
-Journeyman electrician or Millwright trade card a plus.
-Boiler repair certification a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
-Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
-Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
-Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
