Description POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary: We are looking for Maintenance Mechanic C support operations by maintaining equipment, troubleshooting when problems arise, and repairing machines when broken down. They perform troubleshooting and repairs for all facets of modern automated equipment. This is a position where a candidate can continue to improve their skills and grow into more advanced roles.
Primary Job Duties: - Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on automated equipment.
- Answer calls for maintenance quickly and fully prepared to make any repairs needed.
- Should be visible and readily available on the plant floor as much as possible to assist each other and all other departments as needed.
- Complete preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, both while running and during scheduled shutdowns.
- Maintain a safe working environment both in the maintenance shop and on the plant floor.
- Must be food safety minded with attention to details being critical when working on equipment or anywhere near the product.
- Provide and maintain your own hand tools, including, but not limited to wrench sets, miscellaneous pliers, socket sets, hammers, punches, etc.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience: Prior experience in plant maintenance or general commercial mechanic experience.
Education: A high school diploma or GED.
Qualifications: - Previous working in the food industry is a plus.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Electrical troubleshooting ability.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Strong understanding of basic tools.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
- Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time, and in hot environments.
- Food manufacturing knowledge is a plus but not required.
