Please note that this position is with the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at Villa de Matel Center located in Houston, Texas. The Villa de Matel Center is the home for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. It is also used as a central gathering place for the Sisters and their ministries, a retirement center for the Sisters and a retreat center for the public. Summary:
General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance in many areas including carpentry, painting, and machine servicing.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform general maintenance of buildings including roof top drainage, p-traps, cleaning and maintaining safe conditions in mechanical rooms.
2. Assist in painting and repairing furniture.
3. Assist in building and repairing fencing.
4. Assist carpenters, electrical and A/C refrigeration mechanics as needed.
5. Assist with grounds keeping as needed.
6. Assist Auto Mechanic as needed.
7. May require the moving of large or small appliances, equipment, and or furniture, etc.
8. Periodically, on a rotating basis is on call as scheduled. 9. Perform other jobs as requested; including general maintenance work.
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate tractor and other lawn care tools
• 2 - 4 years general maintenance experience preferred
• Welding experience preferred
• Knowledge of auto maintenance preferred
• Texas Driver's License
