In addition to hand soldering will also clean, rework and fabricate parts, components and subassemblies by using scopes and basic hand tools and special devices for the production of components and assemblies.nnJob DutiesnnPerform Solder assignments to fabricate parts and/or components or perform preparation tasks requisite to fabrication. Requires the use of basic hand tools, special fasteners, soldering iron and measuring devices.nnFollowing all written work instructions, process sheets and drawings.nnWill perform hand soldering of Through Hole, SMT, or Flex product while using a scope. Prepares wire by cutting, stripping, twisting, tinning and solders, fastens wires, cables, resistors, capacitors and other parts and components to pwb’s, connectors, and assemblies.nnCleans parts and hand places components during production processes using in-line clean, hand clean and or vapor degreaser.nnRequired to measure and record product data. Follows all ESD procedures.nnMay also operate soldering equipment such as solder wave, selective solder, surface mount equipment, and special parts preparation equipment.nnUse safety practices and takes prompt action to correct problems.nnAssists co-workers when necessary to meet work unit goals.nnActively seeks continuous process improvement.nnMay be required to train other employees and assist in orientation of new employees.nnPerforms other duties as required and may be used in other areas and departments of manufacturing as workload dictates.nnAbelConn Electronics is ISO 9001:2015 ISO 13485:2016, AS 9100: rev. Keep facilities, materials and work areas clean, organized and free of FOD, exercising care in their use.nnKnowledge/Skills/CompetenciesnnHigh School education or equivalent.nnManufacturing experience including microscope soldering or IPC-610 & J-STD certificate desired.nnWill be required to pass J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certification to be qualified to perform the job duties of a Solder.nnFollows oral and written instructions, and must be able to read blueprints.nnPhysical DemandsnnWork will involve repetitive hand motion when performing hand soldering.nnHand soldering is performed in a sitting position; machine soldering functions may require standing, twisting and stooping positions.nnVisual exams are required pre-hire and bi-annual to confirm visual acuity of 20/20 with or without glasses along with passing a standard color vision exam.nnMust be able to perform job functions while using a scope.nnJob duties require working with and around chemicals.nnNotesnnAbelConn is a US ITAR facility and positions with AbelConn involve the release of export controlled goods either directly to employees or through the employee’s movement within the facility.
