Position Title : Senior Mechanical Superintendent - Data Center Construction
Location : Reno, Nevada (Must be within 1-hour commute or willing to relocate)

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Superintendent with specialized expertise in fire suppression, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to lead the mechanical scope of a large-scale data center construction project. The role requires a senior-level professional with hands-on experience managing mission-critical infrastructure from inception through project closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical & Plumbing Project Leadership :
- Supervise the installation, integration, and testing of all mechanical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems on site.
- Ensure coordination across trades, aligning mechanical installations with electrical and structural requirements.
- Act as the on-site authority for the mechanical scope, driving productivity, quality, and compliance.
Technical Oversight :
- Apply in-depth knowledge of fire suppression, HVAC, and plumbing systems to ensure precise, code-compliant installations.
- Interpret blueprints, mechanical specifications, and plumbing schematics to guide field teams in execution.
- Troubleshoot technical issues proactively, partnering with engineering to implement effective solutions.
Safety & Compliance Management :
- Oversee all mechanical safety protocols, ensuring strict adherence to site safety plans and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety briefings and risk assessments specific to mechanical and fire suppression work.
- Guarantee compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as client and company standards.
Project Scheduling & Resource Management :
- Drive the mechanical project schedule, monitoring milestone achievement and adjusting workflows to prevent delays.
- Manage resource allocation, overseeing material requisition, vendor coordination, and equipment quality control.
- Control budget within the mechanical scope, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing expenditures.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication :
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all mechanical and plumbing activities, liaising with client representatives.
- Provide regular updates on mechanical progress, addressing potential issues and communicating transparently with project leadership.
- Foster a collaborative approach with other trades, client teams, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment.
Qualifications
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a superintendent role overseeing mechanical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems on data center projects.
- Technical Skills : Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, with a strong focus on fire suppression, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Location : Must live within a 1-hour commute of Reno, NV, or be willing to relocate.
- Certification : Relevant mechanical and safety certifications are highly desirable.
