Operates diesel-powered tractor-trailernncombination trucks to transport and deliver products. Drives truck to destination, applying knowledgennof commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicles in difficult situations, such as narrownnpassageways. Inspects trucks for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck conditions.nnMaintains driver log according to DOTregulations and other federal and company required records/logs.nnMay be required to perform product backhaul when returning from dispatched route. Unloads/loadsnnproduct at store with assistance from store personnel.nnDivision Application of Responsibilities:nn(% of Time)nn30 Drives to predetermined store locations per route schedule, applying knowledge of commercialnndriving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle.nn5 Maintains driver log, trip and mileage records according to FMCSA regulations. Complies with allnnDOT rules and regulations regarding hours of service, licensing, safety and equipment operation.nn2 Maintain company quality and performance standards.nn1 Report unusual conditions and problems to supervisor.nn1 Observe company safety rules and regulations.nn5 Practice good housekeeping.nn5 Positions/check load securing equipment to secure cargo during transit. Inspects vehiclesnnfor defects before, during and after trips, submits report indicating equipment condition.nn1 Perform other related duties as assigned.nnQualificationsnnQualifications Required of this Position:nnMust possess a valid driver's license and possess a current DOT Medical certification card. One (1) yearnndriving tractor-trailer experience. Must be able to effectively communicate to maintain positive customernnrelations climate with other drivers/warehouse personnel/customers/supervisors. Capable of standing,nnwalking and repeatedly climbing into and out of road tractor or switch tractor. Must be able to work allnnnecessary work schedules, including holidays/weekends. Requires safely operating equipment in extremesnnof weather and climatic conditions and insure working in a cold environment (cooler/freezer).
