Apply today!nnOur comprehensive benefits include:nnMedical and dental benefitsnnShort- and long-term disabilitynnLife insurancennMileage ReimbursementnnPaid time offnn401(k) programnnFlexible Spending Account (FSA)nnEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)nnVendor discountsnnResponsibilitiesnnPerforms personal care needs when given a patient's assignment and attends his/her requests promptlynnReports to the Case Manager immediately, if unable to perform a certain tasknnProvides patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.nnMeets safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2)nnGives personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assignednnAssists in dressing and undressing patients as assignednnPlans and prepares nutritious meals, including shopping, as assignednnAssists in feeding the patient as assignednnTakes and records oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency and when on the plan of carennProvides proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominencennReports on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case ManagernnAlso aware of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issuesnnAssists in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapistnnProvides normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directednnAssists with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as remindersnnOffers and assists with bedpans and urinalsnnProvides assistance as assigned with light laundry needsnnPerforms range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competencynnProvides respite for patient's/family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriatennKeeps patient's living area clean and orderly, as assignednnAdheres to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conductnnParticipates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activitiesnnRespectful of patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needsnnQualificationsnnMeets the training requirements of the StatennCompleted a minimum of seventy five hours of classroom and supervised practical training Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory sixteen hours of practical trainingnnMinimum of six months experience including providing personal carennAt least eighteen years of agennAbility to read and follow written instructions and document care givennnUnderstands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally illnnSatisfactory references from previous employersnnAbility to work with little direct supervisionnnSecure with issues of death/dyingnnProvides a calm manner when in a patient’s homennPossess and maintains current CPR certificationnnDemonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygienennSuccessfully completes a probationary periodnnThis probationary period is to ensure the aide is competent in the above qualifications and is documented by the supervisor and the employeennStrong oral and written communication skillsnnGood organizational skillsnnAbout our Line of BusinessnnAt Allay Home and Hospice, our primary ambition is to bring first-class care to the warmest and most serene environment possible: home.
