Our client, a leading packaging manufacturer located in Lancaster, PA, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join their dynamic team. This role is integral in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of production equipment, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical adjustments, preventive maintenance, and machine operation support, with a keen eye for quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Adjustments and Quality Checks:
- Remove equipment jams and make necessary mechanical adjustments.
- Perform quality checks to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain communication with the Die & Mechanical Setup Lead regarding equipment condition and encountered issues.
Mechanical Setup Assistance:
- Aid experienced personnel in changing tooling and debugging production lines.
- Conduct quality checks and monitor equipment for safety issues, reporting any concerns to the Lead Setup or Mechanical Supervisor.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Grease and lubricate equipment.
- Perform routine servicing to ensure machinery runs smoothly.
Material Handling:
- Handle clean-up tasks, set up pallets and cartons, load finished products onto skids, band loads, and deliver parts to the production line.
Machine Operation Support:
- Substitute for machine operators during inspections.
- Assist in machine operations to facilitate productivity and ensure continuous operation.
Job Requirements
-Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in mechanical adjustments, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting high speed conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated production equipment
- Ability to handle material setup and basic machine operations.
-High school education or equivalent. Up to 5 years" experience is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.
