Responsibilities:
n
n- nResponsible for appropriately administering resident’s prescribed PO, topical (unbroken skin) and rectal medication according to the physician’s orders and Medication Administration policies.n
n- nMonitors adverse affects of administered medications and reports them immediately to Charge Nurse.n
n- nRecords all medication administration according to company policy.n
n- nReports any medication errors immediately to Charge Nurse.n
n- nResponsible for maintaining security of the medication cart and environment free of accident hazards.n
n- nResponsible for maintaining confidentiality and privacy of residents.n
n- nResponsible for observing infection control policies for medication administration.n
n- nResponsible for properly monitoring assigned administration of resident medication.n
n- nResponsible for notifying the Charge Nurse of complaints, reactions or any change in resident status.n

Requirements:
n
n- nCurrent Medication Administration certification from state.n
n- nAbility to record information and perform technical procedures.n
n- nGood communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.n
n- nDemonstrate competence for medication administration.n
