Rewarding opportunity to facilitate self-directed recovery. Partner with other Chestnut staff and with other community organizations in advocating on clients’ behalf. This full-time position is based in Belleville, IL and will provide services in Madison, St. Clair, and surrounding counties in Illinois. Various educational backgrounds and a number of certifications may qualify you for this job.

Responsibilities
n
Develop treatment plans and use them to structure activities and conversations and to address barriers to recovery. Develop crisis plans. Maximize use of available MH services and supports. Coordinate access to crisis outreach and crisis residential placement. Assist primary mental health staff in addressing clients’ chronic health conditions and substance use.

Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and five years’ supervised mental health experience; OR bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field; OR a bachelor’s degree in any other field plus 2 years’ supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting; OR certificate of psychiatric rehabilitation from a DHS-approved program plus a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in providing mental health services; OR Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) in good standing with the State of Illinois. Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor certification (CADC) in good standing with the state of Illinois or substance use experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable. Basic computer skills including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record (EMR).
