Job Description

Role Overview:
This role is with a utility-scale renewable energy developer, where you will manage projects from greenfield development through to Notice to Proceed (NTP). You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the development process, from site identification and permitting to interconnection, financing, and construction readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full life cycle development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, from greenfield inception to NTP.
  • Manage the interconnection process for utility-scale projects-experience with interconnection is essential.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (finance, engineering, construction, legal) and external consultants to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Conduct site prospecting, permitting, land acquisition, and RFP responses.
  • Develop project budgets and schedules, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within scope.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, regulators, and utilities.
  • Lead off-take origination efforts, including PPA negotiations and responding to utility RFPs.
  • Support acquisitions and joint ventures, conducting due diligence and financial assessments.
  • Wear multiple hats across the project lifecycle, contributing to various functions as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor junior development team members, ensuring projects are managed efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy development, with a proven track record of taking projects from inception to NTP.
  • Strong experience in navigating interconnection processes (MISO, SPP, ERCOT, WECC, or CAISO experience is a plus).
  • Expertise in project permitting, land acquisition, PPA negotiations, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as needed for project sites and stakeholder meetings.
  • Hybrid work environment requiring 2 days a week in the office .

This position requires a versatile individual capable of adapting to various roles and responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring efficient progress and development of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
