DIRECT HIRE: $70K - $80K + profit sharing bonus potential
SCHEDULE: First shift, 8A-5P, Monday-Friday.
OVERTIME: No overtime.
DEGREE: BS in Mechanical/Design Engineering

PTO: after 90 days, they get 80 hours of vacation. After 1 year, they get a 3rd week. At year 5, they get their 4th week.
Purpose: Design and develop injection molded and thermoformed products for material handling and packaging industries. The candidate shall also work efficiently with a cross functional team including tool design, quality assurance, manufacturing, documentation control, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Design custom 3D prototypes for customers for both injection molding and thermoforming molds.
- Design prototypes using Siemens NX software, creating products based on customer designs.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams on manufacturing processes, making changes to product designs as necessary.
- Perform FEA and Mold Flow analysis.
- Troubleshoot prototypes and pre-production samples
- Perform product development activities in design and analysis of new products from concept to production using NX followed by customer’s requirements.
- Create detailed drawings for customers and production.
- Communicate with customers, sales, and manufacturing teams to meet target cost, quality, and timing requirements.
- Manage day-to-day activities required to support sales and manufacturing teams.
- Verification and validation of new designs.
- Work directly with toolmaker on tool design and quotes.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree required – in Mechanical Engineering, Design/Design Engineering, or something related.
- MUST HAVE knowledge and experience designing in Siemens NX software.
- Experience working within a design position for the manufacturing industry, preferably in a casting/molding industry.
- Experience in the plastics industry is strongly preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience with designing and manufacturing Injection molded or thermoformed plastic parts. Experience designing large products is a plus.
- Strong Knowledge of Siemens NX, Team Center, and SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of Injection mold design.
- Knowledge of common plastics and their properties.
- Good problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Ability to analyze engineering problems and develop creative solutions.
- Experience working across teams, customers, and departments.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining progress toward completing tasks.
- Excellent organization and prioritization of daily tasks and projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make technical presentations for customers.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing automation is desirable.
