Job Description

SmartHire has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager for a client in South Seattle. Be a part of an amazing fast-paced company that has been in business for over 40 years. You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in MD/HD commercial fleet maintenance, strong leadership and communication skills, a Class A or B WA State license and be insurable


Salary

$110k - $150k annually DOE

Shift

Monday – Friday 6am - 4:30pm with rotating Saturdays 7:00am - 12:00pm.



Job Summary:

This role oversees the maintenance operations of the fleet, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and safety. It includes managing staff, coordinating repairs, maintaining records, and optimizing costs.

  • Supervise Maintenance Operations: Manage day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure fleet safety and reliability.
  • Staff Management: Lead, train, and evaluate maintenance personnel; ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Inter-Department Collaboration: Communication with transportation department to align fleet readiness with business needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
  • Budget Management: Monitor repair costs, approve expenses, and control inventory.
  • Vendor Coordination: Establish relationships with suppliers for parts and service.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track fleet performance metrics and implement improvements.
  • Process Standardization and Support: Develop and implement standardized maintenance procedures across locations, providing support to teams in other areas as needed.



About you:

  • 5 years’ experience in MD/HD commercial fleet maintenance
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations
  • Budgeting and cost control experience
  • Strong computer skills. Fleet management software experience a plus
  • WA State Class A or B commercial driver’s license
  • Must have a clean driving record and be insurable
  • Journeyman level tool set
