Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Scientist Consultant with background in molecular biology and protein biochemistry to join our Antibody Discovery Group in South San Francisco. The Scientist Consultant will be responsible for supporting molecular biology efforts devoted to generating antibody/protein expression constructs and library generation. This individual will work closely with members of the Antibody Discovery Team to support Large Molecule therapeutic programs.
Responsibilities:
Design recombinant antibody expression constructs to produce monoclonal and bispecific antibodies in various molecular formats
Perform high-throughput molecular cloning to generate recombinant antibody and protein expression constructs, including high-throughput sequence analysis, and DNA purification
Support NGS-based antibody discovery and engineering campaigns by constructing phage display libraries and performing phage selection
Organize DNA and glycerol bacteria samples for distribution and proper storage
Perform high-throughput ELISA and FACS screens, as needed
Work collaboratively with Large Molecule functional teams to ensure materials are delivered on time
Demonstrate collection and thorough analysis of data, and update Electronic Notebook records
Basic Requirements:
BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, or related field with 0-2 years of experience working in an academic or industry laboratory setting.
Additional Preferences:
Experience in various molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, DNA purification, and phage or yeast display library construction
Experience in using bioinformatics and molecular biology software to analyze DNA and protein sequences for sequencing confirmation, NGS, cluster analysis, and design of de-novo expression constructs
Highly motivated, fast learner with strong organization skills to effectively present data and summary of results, and ability to solve problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
