We are currently seeking a litigation associate attorney for a personal injury law firm in the Myrtle Beach and Conway area. This proven South Carolina litigation firm has multiple offices and is passionate about helping their clients. The focus for this associate includes personal injury cases, trucking, and car accidents, and worker’s compensation cases.
Example Job Responsibilities:
- Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memorandum
- Guide clients through the case process
- Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports, and affidavits
- Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
- Handling all aspects of workers’ compensation cases from the initial client intake meeting through resolution
- Travel in SC for court appearances may be required
Minimum and Additional Qualifications:
- A JD from an accredited law school and a member of the SC Bar in good standing
- 1-3 years experience practicing as an attorney with knowledge of and experience in litigation and civil procedure
- Strong legal writing skills including experience in drafting briefs and other legal documents
- Ability to express arguments and conclusions clearly and logically
- Strong research, organizational and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, hardworking, and results-driven team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience gathering evidence to be used in trial & interviewing key witnesses
