Position Overview:

As a Senior Estimator, you will be a strategic partner in the preconstruction process, leading the development of accurate and comprehensive estimates. Your advanced skills in estimating, coupled with extensive experience in self-perform and at-risk GC/CM, will support our client’s mission of delivering cost-effective, high-quality projects on time and within budget. This role involves close collaboration with project teams, providing essential insights that drive informed decision-making and contribute to the success of each project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced Estimating and Cost Management : Lead the preparation of conceptual, detailed, and GMP estimates for complex commercial construction projects. Utilize a deep understanding of construction methodologies and materials to create accurate, competitive bids.
• Preconstruction Leadership : Serve as a trusted resource for project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, providing insights on project feasibility, scope development, and risk analysis. Conduct detailed constructability reviews and offer value engineering recommendations.
• Self-Perform Expertise : Apply extensive knowledge of self-perform work to develop labor, material, and equipment estimates. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure optimal use of self-perform capabilities in driving project value.
• Data-Driven Decision Making : Utilize historical project data, cost analysis, and productivity metrics to enhance estimate accuracy and support strategic planning for complex projects.
• Mentorship and Team Support : Mentor junior estimators and provide guidance to enhance their skill sets, promote collaboration, and build a cohesive estimating team.

Qualifications:

• Experience : Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a proven background in self-perform and at-risk GC/CM roles.
• Technical Proficiency : Advanced understanding of estimating principles, construction methodologies, cost control systems, and relevant engineering disciplines.
• Project Expertise : Demonstrated experience estimating complex commercial and institutional projects, particularly in healthcare, manufacturing, and life sciences.
• Analytical and Strategic Thinking : Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, identify innovative solutions, and make sound decisions that drive project success.
• Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of technical training and relevant experience will be considered.
