Scope:
This Director of Tank Wagon Operations, reporting directly to the President, is responsible for the overall operations and logistics for the Company’s tank wagon division delivering 35+million gallons annually. This position will be heavily focused on growing the business unit and leading a team over multiple locations and states. This role will require a strong leader while collaborating with all other departments of the organization. Having in-depth knowledge of environmental and Department of Transportation compliance is a key component of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage, operate and grow a core business unit of the larger organization consisting of 35+ tank wagons delivering approximately 35+ million gallons annually.
- Growing a business unit and success in growing with an organization.
- Build structure and standardization to a rapidly growing organization.
- Develop meaningful metrics to measure the performance of the operating division and its people.
- Understanding of the overall Fuel Market – supply and pricing
- Strong Financial Acumen, managing and responsibility for P&L.
- Must be a strong leader with the ability to build and develop successful teams.
- Collaborate and work closely with multiple departments and leaders within Sales, Accounting, Safety, HR, and other departments within the organization.
- Daily implementation of risk strategies to continuously promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of AST and UST regulations and compliance
- Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
- Ability to give timely responses to all environmental reports required by regulator for the bulk plants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years industry experience with 5 years management experience in similar role.
- Must have a strong background in the petroleum industry.
- Thorough knowledge of equipment at bulk plants and on tank wagons, meters, registers, PTO etc.
- Experience working with state environmental and DOT groups.
- Knowledgeable in industry specifically technologies. SmarTruck / Smartlink experience is a plus.
- Travel up to 65% of the time- day and some overnight travel.
- Willingness to be involved in industry associations.
