Opportunity for a Controls Engineer to join our automotive seating plant in Eastaboga, AL. This is a second-shift position (5:00 PM - 2:30 AM). Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Responsibilities
Troubleshoot production issues using PLC programs.
Collaborate with production associates and maintenance teams.
Modify PLC programs to address production/customer needs and improve processes.
Develop new PLC programs for various operational issues.
Install and maintain barcode scanners and printers.
Provide remote support across two plants, including troubleshooting over the phone.
Support overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
Ensure adherence to safe work practices and accident-free operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Allen Bradley ladder logic programming.
Experienced with Rockwell Logix 5000, Studio 5000, and Logix 500.
Familiar with HMI programming using FactoryTalk View Studio.
Knowledge of field bus technologies (IO-Link), vision systems (Cognex, Keyence), fastening/torque applications (Atlas Copco), and robotic systems (FANUC, Yaskawa).
Experience with OPC/SCADA systems and data collection (Ignition).
Familiarity with SQL databases.
Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
