Sanitation Technician role will follow verbal and written instructions from the Production Supervisors and follow written sanitation procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a clean, food-safe environment in our manufacturing facilities and warehouses. Basic knowledge and understanding of safety standards or demonstrated ability to learn and apply such standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to wear company supplied PPE (hair nets, beard nets (if applicable), hard hat, gloves, safety goggle/glasses, ear plugs/muffs, steel toe boots).
- Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Ability to maintain adequate records to track chemical inventory and sanitation supplies.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment, perform tasks outside normal duties, accept changes in routine and priorities, and be multitask oriented.
- Must be able to understand the proper application of chemicals by verbal instruction or reading.
- Knowledge and ability to observe company policies, OSHA safety regulations, and cGMP practices.
- Running of floor scrubber, sweeping and mopping of the floor.
- General cleaning of the plant and dispose waste.
- Cleaning of pipes, tools, machines, tanks etc.
Preferred Functions:
- Previous chemical handling and knowledge.
- Forklift and scissor/boom lift experience.
- 1+ years sanitation experience.
Physical Requirements:
- The position typically spends 100% of the time in a production environment.
- Most of the time spent performing the duties of this job will require the employees to stand or walk.
- Employees must be willing to work in a manufacturing setting and inside freezers.
- While performing this job, the employee may be required to work 8 feet or more above ground on scissor/boom lifts and work frequently in tight and hard to reach places.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary.
- Ability to use a power sprayer.
- Able to work in wet, cold, or hot environments.
- Employees must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry iteams.
