Job Opportunity: Project Engineer
TRS is looking for a Project Engineer to join our client's amazing team and work on an exciting project in BC! Responsibilities:
Spearhead and coordinate strategic planning and front-end processes, which includes setting project objectives, assessing opportunities, refining project concepts, overseeing engineering activities, mitigating risks, and incorporating operational requirements into projects.
Aid in project execution by identifying and managing risks, updating crucial project documentation, and conveying timelines to stakeholders, inclusive of accomplishments, deadlines, and deliverables.
Oversee project delivery from inception to closeout, ensuring safety, communication, procurement, quality control, and adherence to project management processes.
Exhibit leadership in safety, adhering to and promoting safety and environmental rules and procedures.
Collaborate with internal and external engineers to generate necessary engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with Project Delivery Framework.
Ensure adherence to project management processes.
Streamline decision-making processes by collecting information, evaluating risks, and offering recommendations that align with project objectives.
Monitor project status and report progress to clients and partners, implementing cost and productivity enhancement initiatives by leveraging best practices and insights from previous projects.
Work with external vendors to ensure project delivery is timely and within budget.
Qualifications:
Possession of an Engineering Degree or Engineering Diploma in a subject area related to Mining, Mechanical or Processing or a related field.
Registration, or eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
Proven experience in project engineering within a heavy industrial environment, preferably mining, including experience in all facets of project delivery and managing resources, both internal and external contractors and consultants.
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations with the capability to comprehend technical documentation, such as civil, mechanical and electrical drawings.
Knowledge of project management standards and their application at various stages of project development and scopes of practice.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional project management skills, with experience in brown field projects being a valuable asset.
