This role requires an experienced project manager with a strong background in maritime engineering, shipbuilding, and project management. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of bringing complex, first-of-class ship design projects to life and stewarding the process through shipyard contract execution. New Construction Project Manager Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of new vessel construction projects, from initial design and planning through to delivery and commissioning. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives and stakeholder expectations. Coordinate with shipyards, naval architects, and engineering teams to oversee the design, construction, and outfitting of new vessels. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, classification society requirements, and company standards throughout the construction process. Conduct regular site visits to shipyards and other project locations to monitor construction activities and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and accomplishments. Oversee the commissioning and sea trials of new vessels, ensuring that all systems and equipment meet specified requirements. Support the handover of new vessels to the operations team, providing necessary documentation, training, and support. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in shipbuilding and project management. New Construction Project Manager Position Requirements Bachelor's in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture 8 Years of combined maritime project management, design, engineering, and/or new vessel construction experience Demonstrated history of developing green energy solutions strongly preferred, namely LNG, ammonia, or other similar technologies Ability to read and comprehend contracts Financial acumen to develop budget, develop long-term plans, and contribute to financial models Experience working with ABS and USCG to effectively overcome complex regulatory challenges LI-Onsite
