We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer supporting one of our premier programs in the business unit, where your knowledge with regards to clarification of requirements, system engineering analyses, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification will be put to good use. The work is on-site in Aurora, CO.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases
- Decompose requirements, define system interfaces and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team
- Provide engineering support and technical direction for the execution of a portion of the programs test program including test processes and baseline definition, test architecture design, verification, and validation
- Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline.
- Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8+ years of prior relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
- Development experience on a government contract
- Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methods
- Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Planning
- Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
- Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases
- Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment
- Scripting knowledge (eg: Python)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
