Delphi Healthcare is searching for a Hospitalist in a rural setting, with low volumes and work life balance to join a great team. This position located in the North Country of New York, which is the Adirondack Mountains Region.
Gouverneur Hospital (GH) is a not-for-profit critical access hospital founded in 2013, and is certified for 25 beds. Services include inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency care, imaging and EKG s, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients admitted to the rural hospital, managing acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and post-operative care.
- Conduct regular hospital rounds to assess patient progress, make necessary treatment adjustments, and communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital, including admissions through the emergency department and critical care situations.
- Collaborate closely with the healthcare team, including nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and specialists, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Qualifications
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Possess a valid New York state medical license and be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or another relevant specialty.
- Obtain and maintain admitting privileges at the rural hospital or healthcare facility where you practice.
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, with a strong foundation in internal medicine or family medicine.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and a diverse healthcare team.
- Show the ability to work independently and handle a variety of medical cases commonly encountered in a rural healthcare setting.
