Position Details:
- Role Type: Full-Time, 24-hour Call Coverage Only (7 a.m. - 7 a.m.)
- Schedule: Minimum of 7 days per month; full-time availability preferred, including weekends
- Estimated Monthly Shifts: 30 days
- On-Site Requirements: Hospital call coverage, consults, and procedures with daily rounding (1-2 hours)
- Support Staff: Dedicated APP (inpatient services, consults, rounding, follow-ups) and an anesthesiologist available for sedation
- EMR System: Epic
Requirements:
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years (ERCP experience preferred)
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania medical license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- DEA: Required
Job Responsibilities:
- Call Coverage: 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time
- Patient Admissions: 5-10 admissions daily
- Daily Encounters: Roughly 15 patient encounters per shift between APP and physician
- Typical Procedures: Colonoscopy, EGD, PEGs, and ERCP (preferred)
- Patient Demographic: 100% adult
