The UPMC Urgent Care Centers are excited to announce an opening for a Full-Time Physician Float! There are ten centers located throughout Western PA. The Urgent Care Centers serve it communities by offering acute care services for minor injuries and illnesses. All locations have x-ray imaging and lab services to assist in diagnosis as well as partnerships throughout the region to ensure appropriate referral and follow up care.
Job Description:
- Physician shall participate in the Quality Assurance programs for the UPMC Urgent Care Centers and shall faithfully perform each and every duty which may be incumbent upon him(er) to perform as necessary to ensure the UPMC Urgent Care Centers comply with all applicable accrediting and licensing requirements, including without limitation, the requirements and standards established from time-to-time by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and CMS.
- Physician shall ensure that all UPMC Human Resource and Departmental policies are followed.
- Physician submits yearly evaluations and/or peer reviews as well as provides input on yearly evaluations for staff.
- Physician will participate in UPP administrative meetings as requested from time to time.
- Physician will sign off on charts seen by APPs in their clinic.
- Physician may be asked to serve as lab director for any designated site.
- Physician, while working their regular shifts, will participate in the back up consultation schedule for APP's working without physician back up.
- Attend Urgent Care and/or Occupational Medicine education programs at request of the Chair and Vice Chair.
- Physician shall perform all other duties as assigned by UPP Emergency Medicine.
Job Qualifications
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Registered Federal DEA without restrictions
- Good standing with the Medical Board of Pennsylvania
- Board prepared or certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Surgery
- Completed an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Surgery
- Proven administrative skills
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
