Duties: - Patient Check-In and Check-Out
- Greet patients upon arrival at the practice
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information, updating as necessary
- Assist patients with completing registration forms
- Collecting co-payments as needed at the time of service.
- Appointment Scheduling
- Schedule patient appointments
- Coordinate scheduling of follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic tests as directed by the provider
- Confirm appointments with patients via phone, email, or text message as needed.
- Insurance Verification and Authorization
- Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits using electronic systems or contacting insurance carrier
- Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals for procedures and services as required payers.
- Patient Communication
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Provide information to patients regarding appointment scheduling, practice policies, and services offered
- Deliver messages to healthcare providers and clinical staff as needed.
- Administrative Support
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, scanning, and organizing medical records. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room. Perform other duties as assigned by practice management or healthcare providers.
Must Have Skills/Qualifications: - 1+ years experience doing healthcare schedule and/or medical front office (or similar)
- Experience obtaining benefits and eligibility
- Experience collecting co-payments
Nice to Have Skills: - Athena EMR experience (preferred, not required)
Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $19-$22/hr DOE
