PRIMARY SUMMARY:
Inspects bench-assembled production components, subassemblies, and final assemblies for conformance to predetermined mechanical standards, specifications, tolerance and quality procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects parts involving numerous precision tolerance dimensions, coordinated dimensions, irregular surfaces requiring coordination in several planes, angles and contours which must be inspected by precision measuring instruments from surface plate set ups and where no inspection jigs or fixtures are available.
- Will utilize the following inspection method; optical comparator and plating thickness tester, and any other methods required to determine quality of parts.
- Check parts when made up in to complicated assemblies for their usability, interchangeability and/or proper functioning.
- Review relevant documentation for compliance to operation and/or related procedures.
- Record quality of material approved and rejected on inspection report.
- May be required to determine alternate methods of inspection to determine quality of parts.
- May be required to perform periodic stamp inspection for stamp control purposes.
- Attends all required job related training (internal and external).
- Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to managements attention immediately.
- Seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
- Suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education and/or Experience
- AA degree or High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; and 3 or more years experience and/or training of precision mechanical parts inspection.
- Ability to make all inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints or other job specifications.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area and volume.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Evidence of US person is required under ITAR.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
