Position Title: Shipping, Receiving, Packaging and Storage Associate

Position Summary:
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near warehouse or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift. Prepares crates and packages for shipping.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Processes all outgoing orders. Ensures items are properly selected, inspected, packaged, weighed and shipped in accordance with customer shipping instructions.
- Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment. Prepares items for shipment and completes pick sheets and shipment quality control checklists where applicable.
- Ensures required shipment documents such as packing lists, international commercial invoices, customs declarations, certificates of origin, manuals and material safety data sheets are correct and freighter labels and other required labels are included in and on shipments.
- Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using handtruck, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
- Signs for, in-checks and verifies items, quantities, weight and terms for incoming motor freight shipments
- Selects and delivers items for production work orders and fills out work order “pick sheets”.
- Assists with periodic / annual inventories counting and recording materials.
- Receives, unpacks, in-checks, stores and/or delivers all incoming ground and vendor delivered shipment items.
- Assigns warehouse locations verifying part numbers, quantities, and serviceability.
- Works in open-air industrial warehouse environment.
- Must regularly manually lift up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 150 pounds.
Experience and Education:
Requires a high school diploma.
Current fork truck certification.
1-2 years of experience preferred in the field or in a related area.
Must be familiar with computers and materials related software.
