Description SupplyOne's Local Driver/Warehouse Worker's main responsibility is to fill in for drivers' paid time off as needed.Representing SupplyOne as one of our Local Drivers will occur approximately 26 weeks/year of which we anticipate only 2-4 weeks will be during the winter months. When not driving, this position will be based in the warehouse assisting the day-to-day material processing of both inbound and outbound loads. Warehouse tasks may involve the proper loading and unloading of trailers, splitting load tags, handle, truck and store raw materials and supplies, scan and move corrugated and consumable products throughout the plant plus additional tasks as assigned. This hybrid role will fulfill are requirements of Local Driver as well as Warehouse Associate depending on the needs of the day.
As a Warehouse Worker: - Directly responsible for the unloading of trucks, the receiving of, the quality check of, and the putting away of materials as assigned
- Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped - understand load tags and notes
- Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas by forklift or other common material handling tools
- Understand the use of Tablet and RF Gun mounted on forklifts
- Knowledge on the use of dock plates and dock locks and wheel chocks
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
- Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, scanning tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated truck
- Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders and shrink wraps on pallets or shelves, and/or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program
- Printing delivery receipts for drivers, and assisting in securing loads with bars/straps
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe
As a Driver: - Completes daily safety check of equipment and verifies load with customer's paperwork
- Safely drives truck to transport materials to designated customer
- Accurately delivers our quality finished product
- Responsible for completing and obtaining signatures to ensure accurate paperwork
- Daily customer and public contact requires courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate DOT, safety, and security standards
- Maintain accurate driver logs and abide by federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Assist in general upkeep / maintenance of vehicles and trailers
- Communicates customer feedback to SupplyOne
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Must possess a valid and current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for doubles
- Must have previous successful forklift experience
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Ability to safely drive commercial delivery vehicles and proficient with 28, 48, and 53' trailers
- Possess knowledge of DOT regulations and traffic laws
- Basic reading and math skills, including the use of charts and schedules
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
The Driver position is required, as a minimum, to have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), current Medical Certification, as well as a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. The Operations Manager can determine whether education and training are "equivalent" based on his/her experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English. Candidate will have the ability to read and comprehend moderate to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Candidate will have the ability to write technical correspondence. Candidate will have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Candidate will take responsibility for communicating with other shift employees. These communication skills will be done by updating spreadsheets, also verbal and written communication to co-workers and other customers and/or companies.
