What you will do:
Lead the creation of a technology framework and provide technical leadership in support of Nutrien’s initiatives in cloud computing with a focus on the design of services that run on both on-premises as well as cloud platforms.
Work closely with software developers and system/database engineers to understand requirements and participate in design discussions.
Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on Nutrien’s application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud.
Maintain overall industry knowledge of the latest trends, technology, etc.
Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
Define optimal database design (Structured and unstructured) patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability tests of business tools, and third-party and cloud applications.
Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.
Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how cloud technology can support these efforts.
Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other closely related subject
8-10+ years of experience with a background in technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management, or operations
Server admin skills for Windows/Linux
Required 3+ years of software/application development experience OR Solution Architecture and Operations
Experience with AWS, Azure, and other Cloud Platforms.
CICD – Terraform, Circle CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Jira, GitHub, Ansible, AWS Systems Manager, etc.
Experience with the monitoring and analytics of CloudHealth, Azure Monitor, Service NOW
Security – Azure AD, MS MFA, Prisma, Splunk
Scripting & Languages – Python, Bash, Java
Extensive hands-on experience and thorough understanding of AWS & Azure architecture, development, deployment, and test automation consuming cloud native services
Experience and thorough understanding of Agile/Scrum development, DevSecOps, CI/CD process and tools
Dedication to continuous improvement and optimization of Cloud offerings
Innovative and ability to think outside the box for creative problem-solving
AWS-Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Preferred
AWS-Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Preferred
Microsoft-Certified Azure Fundamentals Preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual salary of $117,920 - $162,140. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
