Position Summary:
Working as a professional IT consultant on a large long-term project for one of the big five North American Banking and Financial major.
The position demands one to be very proficient in coding especially Core Java and Selenium. You will be working with a geographically spread team on this project.
This is a Hybrid role with two days working out of office.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Perform requirements analysis and quality risk analysis.
Support creation of Test Strategies & Test Plans including but not limited to design and development of test case automation.
Develop and maintain test cases, automated scripts, and traceability matrices.
Facilitate the identification and preparation of test data.
Apply the principles of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and focus on value driven outcomes.
Implement functional and non-functional automation (performance, readiness / reliability testing, accessibility) approach, frameworks, script development and execution.
Ensure automated tests are integrated into the continuous integration, delivery, and testing (CI/CD/CT) pipelines.
Ensure source code management looking for opportunities to effectively leverage tools and engineering practices (DevOps tools and processes, SV, monitoring tools and process, etc.).
Ensure quality processes are followed, execute system and integration test scripts.
Detect, log, and retest defects.
Participate and contribute to the Lessons Learned Sessions.
Participate in knowledge transition activities.
Communicate progress of testing activities to the team/test lead or directly to client.
Produce “client” and “internal” status reports.
Maintain a solid understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies, and terminologies.
Coach and mentor other members.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or Business OR Diploma in IT and/or Business with equivalent IT experience.
SAFe SP Certified or in process (and/or other industry recognized agile certifications).
Required Experience:
8+ years of automation testing experience.
Strong practical experience programming algorithms with JAVA.
4+ years working experience with industry standard functional automation test tool (Selenium).
Working experience with industry standard API automation test tools (REST-Assured).
Experience with CICD-Jenkins.
Working experience of git/bitbucket to make contributions to the automation code (ex. branching, creating pull request, merging), standard test management tool (JIRA).
Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
Must have been in a client facing role or interacted directly with Client Stakeholders, Senior Management, and/or technology partners.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Positive attitude.
Requires the ability to build consensus and resolve interpersonal challenges.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
Demonstrate the ability to provide information and ideas in a clear, comprehensive, concise and organized manner.
Nice to Have:
ISTQB Certified Foundation Level (and/or other industry recognized testing certifications).
Working experience with accessibility testing and tools (ex. JAWS, etc.).
Experience working with mobile test tools (ex. Perfecto, Appium, etc.).
Working experience in Banking domain (Wealth Management / Investment / Trading / Enterprise Payment or others is nice to have).
