At Myant, we are creating the world’s first expressive and continuous digital presence platform, enabled by integrating technology directly into clothing and augmented by other devices, wearables, and IoT. However, there are those who are left behind, namely the very young, the marginalized, the old, and the sick. The challenge of inclusion for those left behind requires us to move beyond device-focused strategies towards an interface that we use naturally, every day. We believe that textile is that primary interface, used in clothing, coverings, carpeting, and more; we wear and are surrounded by textiles universally, always.
Such an interface could fuse data with other devices that we use periodically and data with other IoTs in the environment. People could then leverage their physical presence over their digital presence to communicate and share personal wellbeing. This could unlock healthcare that is proactive and preventative, social connectedness that is more profound, enable care distribution models to be seamless and on demand, better fitness insights, safer working environments, and more.
The vision for SKIIN -our first consumer-facing brand- is to enhance human ability through connected clothing and textiles. Skiin is in beta-phase market launch and has been recently granted Health Canada medical device license and submitted to FDA for regulatory approval in the US market. The sensors and actuators embedded within our apparel create your Digital Identity, which will be consumed by those who matter to you - your family members, physicians, trainers, and other IoT devices - without you consciously having to think about it. The line between the digital and physical world is becoming increasingly blurry, and we believe textile is the next medium to bridge that gap.

Position Overview:
As a mobile software developer, you will report to the Software Engineering Manager and contribute to various mobile-based software products and projects. You will be responsible for designing and implementing fully-functioning, well-tested code and documentation to adhere to the organization’s quality standards. As part of this role, you will be collaborating closely with fellow mobile, product, web, and backend developers to develop new features and applications that use real-time data from a wearable device and compute a variety of health and wellness metrics.
This role will require on-site/hybrid work. Candidates near the GTA are invited to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Development: Collaborate with designers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver delightful user experiences for mobile applications.
Participate in regular development ceremonies (e.g., standups, retrospectives, scrum openings/closings, code walkthroughs).
Create and maintain supporting documentation for internal and external review.
Work alongside the mobile, web, and backend development teams to produce high-quality medical software.
Productization of Algorithms: Review artifacts from data science teams to evaluate productization efforts.
Translate algorithms and machine learning models delivered from R&D teams into production-ready code for software applications.
Prepare unit tests demonstrating the verified accuracy of implemented algorithms.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
2-5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Flutter.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Dart, Python, Swift, Kotlin.
Familiarity with cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience in processing physiological data (e.g., PPG, ECG, EMG, EEG) is an asset.
Experience working with Software as a Medical device (SaMD) is an asset.
Previous experience developing software for medical devices is an asset.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like CodeMagic, Github Actions, etc. is an asset.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time.
