The Business Architecture Team plays a critical role in supporting Thomson Reuters through its transformation to an operating, AI and content-driven technology company. Our goal is to enable better strategic decision-making, prioritization, and business design at TR by utilizing industry-standard frameworks, methods, and tools to increase enterprise-wide alignment and transform the customer and colleague experience.
One of our focus areas is to develop enterprise-wide business designs for specific business needs setting the overall direction, standards, and boundaries for the subsequent development of detailed business and system requirements to support implementation. Such global designs form an essential part of the high-level design activities to gain alignment on future state standardization, where currently significant variances exist in how our different segments, products, and geographies work or are governed by commercial policies.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Manager, Business Architecture you will:
Work closely with other members of the Business Architecture team and other stakeholders across the entire organization (e.g. commercial excellence, customer-to-cash, finance, enterprise architecture, sales, etc.) to develop high-level business requirements that help standardize our global operations.
Learn and shape how various parts of the organization operate at Thomson Reuters and concurrently improve the customer and user experience.
Develop high-level business designs, including the delivery of business requirements, service blueprints, business processes, standardized definitions, etc.
Work with other business architects and cross-functional groups to deliver business designs.
Run SME interviews and facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to define and validate designs and business requirements.
Use critical thinking, industry best practices, and assessments to manage ambiguity and to challenge the current state and drive continuous improvements.
Synthesize different and sometimes opposing views and facilitate conversations to drive standardization and simplification.
Analyze data to run impact assessment of proposed changes.
Plan and manage projects independently and ensure the project activities are in alignment with broader programs, portfolios.
Continuously manage key stakeholder groups and provide recurring updates to our main sponsors and leadership.
Report key updates to the Business Architecture leadership team.
Act as a champion for high-quality and consistent design activities across TR.
Establish, validate, and measure key metrics to track impacts to achieve intended business results.
Continuously improve our business architecture and business design methodologies and frameworks.
About You
You're fit for the role of Manager, Business Architecture if your background includes:
Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline required; masters of higher degree preferred.
6+ years of relevant experience, including management consulting, business analysis, business architecture, process mapping.
Experience leading complex projects involving multiple internal stakeholders across functional areas.
Structured and critical thinking to deal with ambiguity and always challenge the status quo.
Comfortable in taking initiative and driving improvements independently.
Strong analytical skills.
Confident in facilitating workshops with diverse groups of stakeholders.
Proven track record of collaborating across teams and organizations.
Strong communication skills and ability to create executive-level presentations.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Strong interest in business architecture and business design.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Collaborative and team-focused, with a willingness to take initiative.
Energetic, with drive, enthusiasm, and natural skills in relationship development.
Experience working in a large software or business information company is a plus.
