Pay rate: $45.84-55.34 (depending on level of qualifications) Primary Purpose of Position Acting under prescribed rules and approved practices, to assist instrument mechanics in locating and correcting trouble in generating station mechanical and electrical control systems and instruments to inspect, clean, adjust, calibrate, and repair assigned instruments and gauges and to perform related work as assigned. Primary Duties and Accountabilities · Assist instrument mechanics of higher classification in locating and correcting trouble in control systems and instruments of combustion equipment and nuclear reactors, turbines, chlorinators, water treatment systems, and station auxiliary equipment, involving inspecting, cleaning, calibrating, replacing defective parts, and repairing electrical and mechanical instruments and controls. · Inspect, clean, adjust, calibrate and repair such instruments as manometers, gauges, flow meters and thermometers. · Test electronic tubes and replace defective amplifier units. Minimum Qualifications · High School Diploma · Ability to pass pre-employment testing · Ability to work different shifts · Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access · Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills ·And ONE of the following: · Associates degree or equivalent in Electronics · OR Applicable military Electronics maintenance experience/ Navy Nuclear Electronic Technician experience · OR Specialized training in power plant instrument operation and maintenance · OR Navy Nuclear Electronic Technician experience · OR 2 years as an instrumentation and controls technician in an industrial facility
