  • We are seeking a Registered Nurse:
  • Join our 28-bed General Surgery unit offering the opportunity to gain a broad base of skills and clinical knowledge.
  • The patient population is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, including stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts, and diseases involving the breast.
  • Nurses are highly competent to care for a variety of high acuity patients, while maintaining a focus of compassionate patient and family centered care.
  • Emphasis is placed on professional development through continuing education for nursing staff, professional certifications, development of unit resource nurses, mentoring staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of care for all patients and their families.
    Job Requirements
  • Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison.
  • Experience: Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
  • Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.
  • BLS – must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
  • Telemetry: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.
  • Floating: Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
    Additional Details
  • Current/valid Driver’s License required if driving is a requirement of the position.
  • Required for Dialysis. Check Unit Description to determine if required for any other positions
