H&R Block Financial Products team works on building and improving a range of financial products designed to meet our customers’ diverse financial health needs. These products include:  

  • Spruce: A mobile banking application 
  • Emerald Card: A pre-paid card  
  • Emerald Advance A seasonal loan product  
  • Refund Advance: A free tax advance  
  • Refund Transfer: A pay-by-refund option for tax preparation fees   
  • Future additional products to come! 

We’re seeking a driven, action-oriented self-starter who can help us drive forward projects that let us serve our customers better. The Financial Products Program Manager will play a key role in supporting the team in building and developing our ways of working, implementing cross-team projects, and managing our resources. This role will report to the Director, Product Management and provide exposure to a range of business and functional leaders. 


Day to day, you'll..

  • Work with the stakeholders across departments, disciplines and seniority levels to execute projects which improve our ways of working or provide new services to our clients 
  • Manage our regular business cadences including quarterly planning sessions, agile sprint support, and other recurring touch points 
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to keep projects aligned to schedule and goals  
  • Establish performance indicators to identify successes, roadblocks and progress 
  • Be responsible for managing and acting quickly upon information regarding resource allocation, timelines, dependencies, and milestones 
  • Work on multiple projects at once, sometimes as an individual contributor and sometimes leading cross-functional teams 
  • Analyze and monitor ways of working across the team and proactively provide actionable recommendations on improvements  
  • Manage and document critical decisions and dependencies across work streams, assist team with framing decisions, escalate to executive team as needed

  • Experience working with agile product development teams  
  • Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities 
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines 
  • Experience influencing without authority and leading large teams in a matrix management environment 
  • A bias to action and ability to solve complex problems 
  • Experience leading large programs that involve significant business change 
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or Scrum of Scrums Master 
  • Experience in Fintech or Financial Services 
What you'll bring to the team...
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least 5 years of overall business experience including experience consulting or managing complex projects or programs 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative relationship building style in person and in virtual environments 
  • Excellent and adaptable technology skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and project management software 
  • Strong, well-rounded communication skills, including strong presentation and facilitation skills to communicate with and persuade a wide range of audiences
