If you want to work for an organization that makes a difference for children and families, and encourages you to be at your best every day, please apply today.Please follow this link for a closer look at what it's like to work at Children's Wisconsin: Casual hoursLocation: Forest HomeUnder the direction of the dentist takes radiographs, prepares for treatment, performs chair side four-handed dentistry to assist the dentist during examination and treatment of patients and performs sterilization functions in the Dental Clinic.Minimum Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceCompletes charting in the electronic health record.Knowledge of basic dental care procedures, as can normally be acquired through completion of one year of training in a dental assisting program or equivalent work experience.Twelve months dental assisting experience or successful completion of dental assisting clinical rotation at Children's Dental Center.Proficiency in 4-handed dentistry, sterilization and x-ray techniques.Dental Assisting Certification and Pediatric or Special Needs dental assisting experience desirable.Requires excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact courteously and respectfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.Knowledge of computer and keyboard, word processing skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic PC issues.Ability to stand/walk/move a moderate amount of time, sit frequently, reach moderately, bend/squat/kneel occasionally, push/pull 50 pounds occasionally, and lift/carry items weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.This is a casual role working Thursdays and/or Fridays working from 8-4:30PM or 8-5:30PM, depending on the clinic.
