We are actively seeking an experienced Lead Dimensional Inspector to join and grow in the PPG organization. The Lead Dimensional Inspector will develop, maintain, and improve both CMM and manual inspection processes to ensure the precise measurement and validation of aerospace components. Expert level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a requirement for this role.

Requirements
- Lead, coach, and mentor inspection department personnel
- Optimize conventional inspection methods including but not limited to surface plate, height gauges, micrometers, optical comparator, and CMM to perform in process and final dimensional inspection
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to determine dimensional accuracy and approach
- Participate in root cause analysis
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of CMMs to ensure reliable and accurate data
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance inspection processes and reduce cycle times to increase production throughput
Knowledge, skills, and abilities - 5 or more years dimensional inspection experience in aerospace manufacturing required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or related field is a plus
- Proficient in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar familiarity with CAD software
- Ability to troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and recommend solutions to improve product quality
- Ability and willingness to keep pace in a highly dynamic inspection environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Extensive experience measuring both thickness and surface of airfoils specifically
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace & defense, preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of AS9100 and NADCAP standards, preferred
- Experience measuring vanes, blades, impellers, nozzles, blisks, etc. is a plus
Salary Description
$135,000 per year
