Cashier/Food Runner Job Description:
As a member of the Huey Magoo's restaurant operating team, the Cashier/Food Runner is responsible for creating a pleasant dining experience to all Guests by providing quick and friendly service, as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work station.
Cook Job Description:
As a member of Huey Magoo's restaurant operating team, the cook is responsible for the preparation of food items, quality assurance, proper plate arrangement, appearance, and ensuring fast, efficient service according to company standards. Responsibilities also include cleaning and proper sanitation of the kitchen at all times. The cook is a key team member in maintaining proper portioning, waste controls, and practicing common sense safety rules while performing his/her duties.
Requirements:
Cashier/Food Runner:
1. Huey Magoo's Hospitality - Create an emotional bond with the Guest by making a connection with them. Recognize opportunities to exceed a Guest's expectations, regardless of the circumstance. Display an energetic and caring attitude just as you would for a Guest in your own home. They will remember this and it will lead to repeat visits. This type of interaction with the Guest applies in the restaurant or on the phone.
2. Proper Image - Maintain a proper image through personal appearance, professional conduct, and in your area of responsibility by adhering to all of Huey Magoo's policies and procedures. Most importantly, you are the face of our restaurant as you interact with our Guests.
3. Cash Accountability - Ensure all cash and credit cards are collected and secure in the prescribed procedures.
4. Menu - Have a thorough knowledge of all menu items, prices, sales techniques, and ordering procedures.
5. Food Quality - Ensure all food items are prepared accurately and of high quality. Maintain standards for appearance and presentation according to system standards.
6. Marketing and Promotions - Assist and implement marketing strategies as directed by the company in the restaurant as well as off site promotions.
7. Work Area & Cleanliness - Maintain appearance and stock of the condiment area, drink station, and takeout counter. Complete all assigned Server side work duties.
Cook:
1. Food Preparation
Prepares and handles food according to all federal, state, and local regulations. Prepares food items according to guest checks, assuring that products are according to company standards for quality and appearance. Assures proper flow of orders for product temperature and fast service by cashiers and food servers.
2. Menu and Guest Check
Has thorough knowledge of all menu items, prices, and abbreviations.
3. Waste Control
Stores and rotates products according to established procedures to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage. Maintains standards for portion control according to established procedures while minimizing product waste.
4. Equipment Operation
Sets up the cook line according to company specifications. Assures that the grills, fryers, food warmers, refrigerators and other equipment are maintained at specified temperatures and settings. Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
5. Cleanliness
Clean all equipment according to established procedures and frequency. Maintains thorough knowledge of proper cleaning materials. Be responsible for general cleanliness and appearance of work area before, during and after shift.
6. Proper Image
Maintains image in personal appearance, image in professional conduct, and image in the area of responsibility by completing duties on the shift duty roster.
7. Safety
Practice common-sense safety rules in the area of responsibility to assure customer and employee safety and convenience. Maintains alertness to assist in the event of an accident or emergency.
