Role and Facility Information
Penticton, flanked by tree-trimmed mountain slopes, dramatic clay cliffs, and Okanagan and Skaha Lake, is one of the larger cities in the BC interior. Its lush surroundings and ideal climate, with over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, create a paradise for residents. Enjoy wineries, golf courses, and famous sandy beaches in the summer, and skiing and snowshoeing in winter. Penticton offers all the amenities of a larger urban center while preserving its small-town charm.
The Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a 158-bed Acute Care facility responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to a surrounding population of approximately 90,000 people. PRH offers 24-hour Emergency and Trauma Services, Acute Services, Ambulatory and Out-patient Clinics, and Diagnostic/Paramedical Services.
As a regional facility and secondary referral center for the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, you will join a complement of excellent medical and surgical specialists with available on-site Computed Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine, and Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI). PRH has a ten-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In April 2019, PRH opened phase one of the David E. Kampe Tower (DKT), a state-of-the-art Patient Care Tower, which includes a new ambulatory care center, surgical services center, and 84 medical/surgical inpatient beds in single patient rooms.
Practice Details: Full-time opportunity to experience fulfilling work as a Dermatologist in the beautiful city of Penticton. Join us in providing high-quality medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services at Penticton Regional Hospital and community dermatology services in the surrounding South Okanagan area. The patient population is varied, with an emphasis on seniors presenting skin cancer. Local amenities include phototherapy, plastic surgery expertise, dermatopathology, psoriasis clinic, and the B.C. Cancer Agency. There is also an opportunity to be affiliated with the University of BC, Dept. of Dermatology, with teaching opportunities.
