Description
The Construction Superintendent takes the leadership role on the job site ensuring prompt, efficient progress of the work. The Superintendent determines priorities for work to be done, based on the tasks schedule, project requirements, management direction and customer requirements.
Job Duties:
- Direct Supervision of all onsite subcontractors.
- Communicate to all site staff members any specific requirements for completing the project in a safe, timely, and profitable manner.
- Communicate with the customer or their onsite representative respective of the projects progress and any other requirements or issues that may arise.
- Ability to read and understand applicable plans and specifications, environmental regulations, fire and building codes that must be enforced on the site.
- Lead the following meetings (as applicable):
- Pre-Construction Meetings
- Safety Meetings
- Progress Schedule Meetings
- Inspections
- Store Openings
- Keep accurate daily records on each project. This should include, as a minimum, a record of all tests, inspections, the daily progress on the job, visitors to the job and situations that may affect the project schedule.
- Supervise the daily activities of all workers, subcontractors and material suppliers onsite.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining and conveying the project schedule.
- Enforce all mandatory safety rules.
- Be aware of potential hazards and correct.
- Require the use of the proper personal protective equipment by all crew members and subcontractors.
- Lead weekly job-site safety meetings.
- Ensure the job site be kept orderly and free of safety hazards.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in this position
- Must be a Team player with high standards for appearance and professionalism
- Computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Work may include after-hours
- Able to work in all weather conditions - significant portion of the work is done outdoors
- Willing to travel
- Able to safely operate industry specific tools and equipment
- Obtain /Maintain or possess certifications
- Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day.
- Must be able to meet company's employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
