WATG is hiring an Interior Designer for our office in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
ROLE
The Interior Designer provides the project team with design and technical support, assisting with rendered plans and section elevations, FF&E layouts, material boards, product sourcing, and client presentations. The Interior Designer may shadow senior staff when developing project designs and completing various phases of the project. The Interior Designer participates in complex design assignments for specialized and complex projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, safe and reflective of the intended purpose and function of the project
- Prepares and provides assignments with a focus on keeping the project on schedule and within budget
- Selects and specifies interior architectural materials and finishes, including furniture, lighting and artwork
- Conducts research on new and innovative building materials for current and future projects and shares information with team members
- Delivers design concepts and conducts programming efforts, such as space planning, furniture and finish plans, and FF&E utilization
- Understands technical regulations and code compliance requirements
- Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards
- Participates in team meetings to align the project deliverables to the design intent and prepares and participates in client presentations
- Builds models for client and project team review
- Researches and compiles data and performs design computations for FFE cost estimates and schedules
- Organizes the design library, meets with vendor representatives and helps coordinate Lunch-and-Learns
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field
- 4 to 5 years of experience delivering interior designer projects
- Experience designing small-to-mid-size projects
- Technical expertise in Adobe Suite, DesignSmart, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design tools
- Experience in renderings, graphic design concepts, hand-sketching, vignette scenes, hand coloring
- 3D, 2D mockups and renderings for clients
- Ability to work in a team environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously within established budgets
- Ability to meet deadlines effectively
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
