Hello, I'm Julie, Recruitment and Business Development Consultant at Fed ManuTech, a recruitment firm specializing in engineering and manufacturing. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent in the Greater Montreal area. Our team, experts in these fields, speak your language and work in your world.

For a high-volume manufacturing plant in Lavaltrie, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer - ASME standards, to be hired immediately. Position 40 hours/week - Day shift.

Your duties :
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be in charge of the following tasks:
- Studying customer project requirements and feasibility (pressure vessels)
- Make technical proposals for mechanical engineering to ASME standards
- Collaborate with production and the drafting team to give shape to the project
- Carry out calculations, write manufacturing routines, correct drawings
- Source, contact and compare sub-contractors and suppliers
- Assist other company departments throughout the manufacturing process
- Provide continuous improvement solutions relating to proposals and mechanical engineering.
- Other related tasks

Your professional skills :
- Increased knowledge of ASME standards and pressure vessels
- Experience in customer relations and project management
- Dynamic, diligent and able to manage priorities
- Adaptability and creativity
We're looking for someone who's dynamic, organized and a good communicator. Our ideal candidate likes to design, innovate and is adaptable.
Your profile :
- At least 3 to 5 years' experience in mechanical design under ASME standards
- Fluency in spoken and written English, bilingual in French
The use of English is required for this position for the following reasons:
Communication with international customers: As some of our customers are based abroad, you will be required to communicate regularly with them in English, both orally and in writing.
Working with English-speaking partners: You will be required to work with English-speaking suppliers and partners to monitor orders and manage contracts.
Drafting documents in English: You will be responsible for drafting reports, proposals and contracts in English, for our international customers.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Salary: 80-125k depending on experience + benefits
- Group insurance, RRSP, paid vacation starting at 3 weeks + personal days
