Position: Director of Sales

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share and achieve revenue goals. This includes analysing market trends, identifying target markets, and creating innovative approaches to drive sales growth.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management: Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and productivity. Set sales targets and monitor individual and team performance against goals.
Revenue Management: Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to optimize room rates, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize revenue and profitability.
Market Research and Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Use this information to identify opportunities and make informed business decisions.
Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and travel agencies. Identify new business opportunities and negotiate contracts to secure long-term partnerships.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts and regular sales reports for the hotel's management team. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance sales performance and improve profitability.
Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the Marketing department to create and implement effective marketing campaigns and promotional activities that generate leads, increase brand awareness, and drive sales.
Training and Development: Coordinate training programs for the sales team to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service abilities. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve sales objectives.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships and effective communication channels with other hotel departments, such as Operations, Finance, and Marketing, to ensure a seamless guest experience and cohesive hotel operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field (a Master's degree is preferred).
Extensive experience in sales, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of market research, sales techniques, and revenue management.
Proficiency in using sales management software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Exceptional customer relationship management skills with a focus on building and maintaining long-term partnerships.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
Flexibility to travel as required for client meetings, industry events, and sales conferences.
