Position: Warehouse Manager
Reports to: Purchasing Manager, Production Manager
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
Position Overview
The Warehouse Manager is a hands-on leader dedicated to the warehouse team, fostering collaboration with other departments to ensure a cooperative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the warehouse team, handling all warehouse functions, including hiring, motivating, coaching, counseling, training, and problem-solving.
- Meet and exceed expectations through effective team management.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years in a Warehouse Manager/Supervisor role with progressive responsibility.
- Knowledge: Proven expertise in warehouse operations and logistics.
- Education: Courses in Supply Chain, Logistics, Production, and Inventory are an asset.
- Skills: Strong English communication skills (verbal and written), organizational and planning abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Windows Live Email), and experience with ERP systems.
- Other: Valid driver’s license; forklift certification is an asset.
Abilities and Experience:
- Oversee warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, order picking, and international shipping.
- Maintain quality standards, enforce organizational policies, and ensure smooth communication across departments.
- Utilize excellent analytical skills in a dynamic environment, promoting a disciplined work approach.
- Support recruitment, training, and orientation of new team members.
Health and Safety:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, ensuring good housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, addressing hazards and improvement opportunities.
- Train staff on health and safety protocols, addressing any issues promptly.
Leadership:
- Foster a positive team climate through transparent and objective communication.
- Lead by example, promoting a supportive and motivational work environment.
- Participate in daily huddles and regular interdepartmental meetings to ensure operational alignment.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Manage daily activities of warehouse staff, ensuring schedule adherence and workflow efficiency.
- Conduct daily meetings to communicate workflow and obtain feedback for continuous improvement.
- Oversee projects assigned by the Production and Purchasing Managers.
- Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with WCB requirements.
- Coordinate cycle counts, review inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies, and implement preventive methods.
- Enhance warehouse efficiency, minimize errors, and maintain high client satisfaction by reducing wait times and pick errors.
- Plan for efficient receipt, order picking, and storage of all incoming products, ensuring proper labeling and restocking.
