Assists the Pre-Press Manager by coordinating the graphics functions of the printing department, emphasizing quality and customer service to ensure products meet organizational and customer expectations. Ideally, you come from the packaging sector.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (100%)
Order Management
- In-house plate making
- Manage mounting department
· Ordering of drawdowns / mock-ups as required.
· Dieline creation.
· Receiving orders from customers.
· Check that all information regarding work order is correct before accepting the job, perform digital duties perfectly and check that all information is correct regarding work order before giving the job to the next stage of Production.
· Provide updates on the status of work orders.
· Accurately process customer-supplied files for print production and modify client’s files according to the work order.
· Layout files as required per work order specifications.
· Use Adobe Creative Suite to handle the manipulation of colour control, page imposition, production queues, and output.
· File prep and troubleshooting (Assessing supplied materials for absent or wrong info).
· eDocket Completion (Preparing orders for production).
· Managing revision and approval cycles as required.
· Communicating file issues to Prepress manager with work orders.
· Final inspection and shipping of completed orders to customers.
Inventory Control
· Manage new and obsolete plates.
· Manage production job jackets.
· Review plate deliveries for all plates and proofing.
· Maintain a neat and safe working environment.
Other duties as assigned
· Post Secondary Diploma in related field
· Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in pre-media (pre-press), and flexographic & print production preferred.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Create Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
· Strong grasp of computer and graphics terminology.
· Familiarity with colour specifications, tolerances, and methodologies (ISO, FIRST, G7 etc.).
· Print or Packaging specific post-secondary education preferred.
· FTA (Flexographic Technical Association) training/certification preferred.
· Print production or observational experience preferred.
· Flexographic image carrier knowledge (photopolymer, elastomer etc.) is preferred.
· Spectrophotometer experience preferred.

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 + Benefits
