Certification Details Valid Driver’s License or Passport accepted. Must be a clear copy. AHA ONLY. RQI is acceptable. AHA ONLY. Required for all candidates. RQI is acceptable. NIH Stroke Certification Medication Test/Pharmacology exam required. Not required for Techs or RRTS Color Blind Testing Online Unit competency exam required. Job Details Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Please only submit clinicians who are okay with this. IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bump per hour. Job Requirements First Time travelers Accepted: No Weekend Requirement: every other Shift Requirement: 3x12's only Certification Requirements: BCLS Skillset Requirements: Required – Med/Surg; Starting IVs, Nasal Cannula. Preferred – Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, previous charge experience. CERNER REQUIRED Floating Requirements: Yes Minimum Experience Required: 3 Years Required Unit Information: Unit is Medical Surgical, directly adjacent to the Emergency Department. Patients being held overnight for continued work up as observation patients go to this unit. Similar to a clinical decision unit. Patient Diagnoses: Medical Surgical Only; COVID, Abd pain, resp destress, and any symptom-based that requires further workup. Schedule Information Weekend Requirement: every other Shift Requirement: 3x12's only Unit Specific Information Unit is Medical Surgical, directly adjacent to the Emergency Department. Patients being held overnight for continued work up as observation patients go to this unit. Similar to a clinical decision unit. Additional Details Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however, medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided. Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30). Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS
