Certification Details Certs: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate and NRP Job Details Travel rate is available for local travelers if their start date is on or before 12/16. RTO after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a Cancel and DNR. May be required to precept/orient new staff members to the unit as needed. Job Requirements Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years to be comfortable working on this unit, as it can be challenging for less experience. Prefers 3 years. Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st Time Travelers. (But should have experience in large/high volume similar setting). Skills: Circulate, Sterile vaginal exam and competent in immediate newborn care RATIOS: 2:1, average 20 births in 24hrs and 30-40 admits, 40 Visits/Day, 20 Rooms Schedule Information SHIFT: 36 hours can be offered. Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays 12 HR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15 Float Requirement: FLOAT REQUIRED AS NEEDED. Special Maternity Care high risk OB unit. Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Unit Specific Information SPECIAL PROCEDURES/UNIT DETAILS: Unit VERY FAST PACED, busier and higher acuity than might be normally expected. May not be realistic for nurses to take 48hr contracts on this unit due to how busy it is. UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR. UNIT ORIENTATION: 24.0 Hours SCRUBS: Scrubs provided (blue). Additional Details PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum and for high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. We care for under 16 weeks high risk patients too on our high risk maternity unit. The Birthing Care Unit has an obstetrical triage unit to allow for screening of patients prior to admission and to perform routine outpatient procedures such as antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration. Scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean Births and rescue cervical cerclage are performed.
