SUMMARY
We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Coordinator for our esteemed plastic surgery practice. The ideal
candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills to effectively coordinate surgeries and patient care. This role
demands a balance of administrative acumen, and interpersonal finesse to ensure seamless patient experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Coordinator Duties:
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients scheduling surgeries, meet with patients and provide quotes (virtual and in-person).
Coordinate surgical schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of operating room time and resources.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, including medication management, fasting guidelines, and procedural details.
Obtain necessary pre-operative clearances and ensure all required paperwork and consents are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Facilitate communication between patients, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to address questions, concerns, and special needs. Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
Understand HIPAA and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality.
Have proper etiquette for assigned jobs and respect all our patients.
Advanced knowledge of the types of surgical procedures and treatments offered at the practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a surgery coordinator, preferably in plastic or reconstructive surgery.
Minimum associate's degree in a medical field of study.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
simultaneously.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office applications.
