The team consists of 5 - 8 team members. Responsibilities include the safety, quality, production of the department supporting the KPI's of the plant.Minimum RequirementsPossess the skills to professionally conduct the duties below.Implementing process improvement initiatives as needed.Hold themselves and team members accountable to the goals of Sonoco and Metco Plant.Hold themselves and team members accountable to health and safety regulations/procedures.Follow all Human Resource guidelines while fulfilling duties.Conduct two documented Safety Audits per week.Performing production tasks for all operations with the ability to set-up and perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Possesses the ability to train individuals on all tasks in their area of responsibility.Hold themselves and team members accountable for proper housekeeping standards.Inspecting materials, final products, and machinery for defects.Hold themselves and team members accountable to the quality processes.Managing the production of two paint houses in accordance with the Production Schedule, Scheduled Trucks, Customer Needs, and Raw Materials.Ensures all paint equipment, exhaust fans, wash station, dryer, and refurbishment equipment are maintained in operating condition and coordinates with maintenance needed actions.Ensures proper management of waste stream from area of responsibility.Managing the refurbishment steel reel process based on Customer Needs, Shipping Schedule, Available Personnel, and Machine Availability.Manage the loading of Finished Good trucks. Ensuring the correct product is loaded on the truck. Providing the Office Assistant with the correct documentation for invoicing the customer.Manage Paint and Consumable inventory based on Production Schedule. Provide Paint and Consumable order to Office Assistant for input into Coupa.Manages finished goods and refurbish reel inventory storage on yard as well as yard organization and yard working condition.Ensure the proper stencils are provided to the crew as needed according to the Production Schedule.Perform as the backup for stencil creation.Perform Monthly Physical Inventory counts of Finished Goods. Is responsible for ensuring the counts match perpetual inventory in plant ERP system.Perform inventory count of refurbished reels as needed.Conduct assigned Safety Audits per week. One must be an LCE audit.Willing and able to learn the Do Safety Differently process and apply it to their daily activities.Willing and able to complete all assigned training to include, if identified as a candidate, Leadership Training.Able to lead team members with professionalism, listening skills, confidentiality, controlled emotions, problem solving, openness, precise oral communication, and precise written communication.Delegate job tasks to the appropriate individuals with the training and skill set.Objectively evaluate performance and coach individuals when improvement is needed.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to work with Site Leader and follow direction in accordance with Plant goals.Other Duties as Assigned.Preferred Requirements3-5 years of manufacturing experience.High School Diploma or GED required.Must have Knowledge of Computer Based Programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.Demonstrate examples of leading continuous improvement projects and experience with SPS tools (Sonoco Performance System)Demonstrated the ability to identify opportunities and lead improvements.Work Ethic - Place high value on your success.
